The Chicago Sky suffered a major blow to their 2025 campaign after veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot went down with a devastating injury during last night’s game against the Indiana Fever.

In the first quarter, Vandersloot went down and had to be helped off the court. The team confirmed today that she has torn her right ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
This is a crushing loss for a Sky team that has relied heavily on Vandersloot’s leadership and production. The guard was averaging 10.6 points, a team-high 5.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Just weeks ago, she became the Sky’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing the 3,728-point mark and further cementing her legacy in Chicago.
Her experience, court vision and poise will be difficult to replace as the Sky look to stay competitive in a tightly contested eastern conference.

With Vandersloot sidelined, Chicago will need younger guards to step up — and fast. For now, though, the focus is on recovery for one of the WNBA’s most respected veterans.
