Chelsea have opened negotiations with PSG to sign French striker Randal Kolo Muani this summer, according to L’Équipe.
The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Juventus, has emerged as a key target for the Blues’, who are eyeing a strong showing in the Champions League after making a comeback to the elite tournament and remain keen on bolstering their forward options ahead of the new season.
Enzo Maresca wants another center forward despite recently signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for £30 million [$40m].
Kolo Muani is seen as a strong candidate in that regard with his ability to operate both centrally and on the flanks.
However, Chelsea’s pursuit may be complicated by Juventus, who are pushing to extend the Frenchman’s stay in Turin.

Juventus
Serie A giants, who are impressed by Kolo Muani’s recent form, which includes his two goals in Juve’s 5-0 win over Al-Ain in the FIFA Club World Cup opener, have approached PSG about a potential permanent deal but are not ready to commit to a permanent transfer, with a paid loan and future buy clause remaining their preferred structure.

Chelsea’s move comes as the striker situation shifts
Chelsea’s interest is coming from factors like the uncertain future of Nicolas Jackson. There are reports of Juventus and Napoli being interested in the Senegalese striker.
If Jackson leaves, Chelsea will need a replacement, and Kolo Muani offers that flexible option, as he can play as a center forward or on the wing.
His contract with PSG runs until 2028, but a transfer could still happen. Reports suggest Chelsea may need to pay around £42 million [$56m] to sign him.
Moreover, Chelsea are also looking at another former PSG striker, Hugo Ekitike, now with Eintracht Frankfurt, but Frankfurt’s £85 million [$114m] valuation could be a major roadblock.
In any case, Chelsea are moving quickly to strengthen their attack, and Kolo Muani is now firmly in their sights.
