Chelsea make striker decision if they qualify for Champions League

Chelsea are set for a busy transfer window with a number of incomings and outgoings certain to take place at the club.

While the fans will be excited about the potential signings, it is also important to keep an eye on those who might leave the club, as the Blues need to sell some players to raise funds to sign new ones.

The signing of a striker remains the top priority for Chelsea as they look for cover for Nicolas Jackson up front. The Senegalese international was sent off in the game against Newcastle United and is suspended for the last two league games of the season.

Not only has Jackson been inconsistent in front of goal this season, but his absence has also left Chelsea without a recognised striker in the Premier League for the rest of the season.

In such a situation, it is understandable that the Blues want to sign a striker to bolster their attack. Though they have been linked with a number of names like Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen, they have reportedly finalised who they want to lead their attack next season.

According to a report by The Guardian, Chelsea are set to make a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko if they manage to beat Nottingham Forest on Sunday and secure Champions League football for next season.

Manchester United are one of Chelsea’s big rivals for these big-name signings, however their defeat in the Europa League final could impact their efforts.

To complete the deal, Chelsea could also offer Christopher Nkunku as part of the deal in order to lower RB Leipzig’s asking price for Sesko.

While a deal for Sesko is possible, Chelsea would like to bolster their chances of making it happen by securing UEFA Champions League football on Sunday.
