Chelsea make new bid to sign top goalkeeping target

19 hours ago 1

Chelsea may have already added the likes of Liam Delap to their ranks in the transfer window, but they are showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

The Blues have now turned their attention to AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan and are leaving no stone unturned in their attempts to sign the French shot-stopper in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The mini transfer window closes on Tuesday night, so Chelsea are running out of time if they are to add the French goalkeeper to their squad before the Club World Cup.

Chelsea were previously expected to agree a deal for Maignan on Monday, but that never happened.

The Blues will now be hoping, though, that they can finally strike an agreement with Milan after making another bid for the 29-year-old.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Chelsea have upped their latest offer for Maignan to £18m. They are now waiting for a response from their Italian counterparts.

Chelsea working with a deadline to sign Maignan

Though Chelsea are keen to sign Miagnan from AC Milan, and the player is keen to join the Blues, the West London side have set a deadline for his signature.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has revealed that the Blues will end their interest in the France star if they fail to sign him in this transfer window.

It means it is now or never for Maignan, who simply has to wait and hope that Chelsea can reach an agreement with his current employers.
