The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey will showcase the best of the best from amateur wrestling this Saturday with 2025 Final X taking place.
While the main events feature the likes of Kyle Dake, Zahid Valencia, Helen Maroulis and Amanda Martinez, there are three other key bouts set for the night that will ultimately shape the face of women's wrestling.
Kylie Welker will take on Dymond Guilford at 76kg, Kennedy Blades meets Brooklyn Hays at 68 kg and Amit Elor faces Alexandria Glaude at 72 kg.
Back in 2022, all three were competing at 164 pounds as high school seniors in three different states, each staking claim to being the No. 1 wrestler. In the end, Elor finished first followed by Welker and Blades.
Now, three years later, the trio are set to battle against different foes while striving towards the same goal. The winners at Final X determine the 2025 U.S. World Team in women's freestyle and the U.S. representative at the 2025 Senior World Championships to be held in Zagreb, Croatia.
The trio have competed at both the 2019 Cadet Worlds and 2021 Junior Worlds together. At the Cadet Worlds, Elor and Welker won bronze while Blades finished second. All three captured gold at the Junior Worlds.
Elor secured gold at just 20 years old at the 2024 Summer Olympics, as Blades won silver. Elor has won gold in each of her last nine events since that bronze in 2019.
Final X will also feature the likes of Wyatt Hendrickson, Kyle Snyder, Spencer Lee and several others all looking to make their mark.
