Privacy and feeling safe in your own home is important when a stranger enters that space. When you leave for vacation and have pets, there are two options: either get someone to come everyday to take care of the pet, or send the pet to a pet hotel. Either way, there's a lot of trust that goes into the decision. Someone else taking care of your pet could feel jarring and scary, trust is so important in these cases. In the story below, the protagonist is a couple who have been with their cat sitter for a few years, so they've spent the time to build that kind of trust. They're leaving for 3 weeks – a long time. The cat sitter tells them she prefers to sleep at their home instead of going back and forth.

Well, they're not comfortable with this transition, and they tell her no. She proceeds to decline their offer to cat sit. Let us know in the comments below if you agree with her or the couple.
