Cardinals, Steelers named top landing spots for projected $134 million quarterback

The Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to be in the quarterback market this offseason, and both franchises have been listed as the top landing spots for a free agent signal-caller expected to land a lucrative deal.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox predicts Indianapolis Colts pending free agent quarterback Daniel Jones will land a three-year contract worth $134 million this offseason, with Arizona and Pittsburgh as potential destinations.

Here is what Knox believes about Jones' upcoming free agency.

"Expect Jones to interest most QB-needy teams if he reaches the open market. His free-agent stock isn't as high as it was a couple of months ago, but he's still likely to command a deal somewhere between the four-year, $160 million extension he once signed in New York and the three-year, $100.5 million deal Sam Darnold inked this past offseason."

Before suffering a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in Week 14, Jones was putting together a career year and had the Colts in the AFC playoffs. In 13 starts this year, Jones posted an 8-5 record and tossed 19 touchdowns to eight interceptions with a 68% completion rate.

The Colts are hoping to re-sign Jones, but if the veteran signal-caller hits the market, the Cardinals and Steelers would be ideal landing spots. Arizona could look to move on from Kyler Murray in the coming months, while Aaron Rodgers ' retirement is a legitimate possibility for Pittsburgh.

Jones will cost a fortune to sign in free agency, but it would be worth it for quarterback-needy teams, like the Cardinals and Steelers. Pittsburgh has more cap space than Arizona this offseason, so that could give them an advantage in landing Jones.
