Red Sox trade rumor is good news for future of Peyton Tolle, Connelly Early in Boston

The Boston Red Sox are not the most active team this offseason, with no outside free agents coming to Boston this winter.

But that doesn't mean they haven't been active. The Red Sox have dominated the trade market, acquiring Willson Contreras, Sonny Gray, and Johan Oviedo this winter.

Amid all of those trades, the future of Peyton Tolle and Connelly Early might seem in doubt. But a report from Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic revealed some positive news on their futures in Boston.

Red Sox get good news on future of Tolle, Early in Boston

"Ditto for the Red Sox, who already have parted with young pitching in trades for first baseman Willson Contreras and pitchers Sonny Gray and Johan Oviedo," Rosenthal and Sammon report.

This update from The Athletic duo is in relation to the Red Sox's potential to trade for Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta.

While the Red Sox might have interest in adding another frontline starter to pair with Gray and Garrett Crochet, this report indicates they won't be suitors for Peralta.

The Brewers are reportedly looking for an MLB-ready starting young pitcher, and while Tolle and Early would fit the bill for such a player, the Red Sox aren't likely to move either.

After a few trades already this offseason, which sent young pitchers elsewhere, they aren't expected to make more trades involving their youth at the position.

Adding Peralta, or any other player in a trade who'd cost a Tolle or Early, would be exciting, but the Red Sox are not likely to do such a trade.

But, based on this report, the Red Sox are more likely to keep both as they bank on their roles increasing into the future, with both young starters turning into mainstays of the rotation.

Instead of Peralta or another top trade target, the Red Sox are likely shifting gears to Alex Bregman. They have an offer on the table and are waiting for Bregman to make a decision.

Red Sox fans shouldn't expect either Tolle or Early to be dealt based on this trade update from Rosenthal and Sammon, as Boston's front office doesn't want to completely trade away their young pitching this winter.
