It feels like every offseason, the Buffalo Bills are being mentioned in the Super Bowl conversation, and that is largely due to Josh Allen.
But last year, the Bills had the perfect chance to finally break through, as there was no Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson in the playoffs, yet it was Bo Nix and Denver who slayed Buffalo (Allen's turnovers helped).
So, now we look ahead to 2026, and the additions of DJ Moore and Bradley Chubb improve Buffalo no doubt, but enough to seriously challenge for the Super Bowl?
Some doubt it, but NFL.com's Dan Parr thinks the Bills are every shot to finally break through...with a big if.
"The question, as has long been the case for the Bills, is whether Allen can carry the team to the top despite shortcomings in some other areas of the roster," Parr wrote. "The receiving corps was not nearly good enough last season, and while DJ Moore helps, there’s still a need for dynamic, downfield ball-winners to maximize Allen’s talent.
"On the other side of the ball, the run defense can’t sag like it did in 2025 if Buffalo is going to make a deeper run. If everything comes together around Allen, the Bills will have as good a shot as anyone at the title."

Is it false hope?
You could make that case, and with Sean McDermott now out as head coach and Joe Brady in, the Bills will hope that change can push the team forward.
But we say it every year, don't we? Allen can take this team here or there, but every year, there is a reason why it all falls apart at the end. Mostly due to Mahomes. But that is why last season stings so much. The boogeyman wasn't there, yet Buffalo still failed.
I'm still a believer that Allen will make at least one Super Bowl in his career, and yes, time is running out, but maybe 2026 is the year it all comes together?
Of course, I say that with zero confidence, but with Allen, Buffalo always has a shot.
