As Super Bowl LX approaches, the spotlight on NFL sidelines is widening beyond the field.
With Cardi B expected to be in attendance to support her boyfriend, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, longtime sports-and-entertainment crossover observers Cam’ron and Mase weighed in on how public perception differs when it comes to high-profile NFL partners—specifically comparing Cardi B and Taylor Swift.

The conversation unfolded on a recent episode of It Is What It Is, the podcast hosted by Cam’ron and Mase, with former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett joining as a guest. What began as a discussion about celebrity visibility at NFL games turned into a broader look at how relationships are framed in the public eye.
Mase was quick to point out that the contrast often gets oversimplified. He said the way people talk about Swift and Cardi B isn’t strictly about race, but about how relationships are presented and understood by the public. One relationship is viewed as more “traditional,” while the other is often scrutinized through a different lens.
During the exchange, Cam’ron clarified details about Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, noting that while they are not married, the couple announced their engagement last summer. That distinction, he suggested, plays into why Swift’s presence in NFL luxury suites is often framed as polished and controlled.
Mase expanded on that idea, explaining that some fans and commentators subconsciously label one relationship as “cleaner” than the other, attaching assumptions about monogamy, family structure, and stability. Those perceptions, he said, aren’t always grounded in facts, but they persist anyway.

Cardi B and Diggs welcomed their first child together in December, while Diggs has been publicly linked to other children from previous relationships. Adding to the recent headlines, Diggs’ ex, Aileen Lopera, filed a motion last week to dismiss a paternity lawsuit involving her infant daughter, whom she had believed was Diggs’ child.
