It's not a secret that the Indiana Fever made a few monster free agency moves, nor is it a secret that the team is championship-hungry. So when Caitlin Clark told reporters the Fever has landed the "missing piece" they needed last year, everyone was intrigued.

That missing piece is none other than 2-time WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner, who signed a one-year contract with the Fever this year.
Bonner "has been tremendous," Clark said, "not only as a leader, but she's a tremendous basketball player, too." Bonner is bringing her championship background with her to Indiana, something that Clark added has impacted the team significantly.
"So when she speaks, everyone listens," she went on. "I think that was the piece of the thing we were missing last year. We didn't really have that inside of our locker room. I'm just really grateful for that, just the way she talks and leads... for me as a second-year point guard, I want to win for her."
Elsewhere in the interview, Clark admitted that there really isn't an "alpha" on the team. "I don't think anybody is trying to be alpha," sh explained. "Everybody is trying to be a good listener and [to] be there for your teammates."
The Fever will kick off the preseason on May 3 against the Washington Mystics — and it sounds like the team is taking serious steps to be as ready as possible.
