WNBA fans erupted on social media as clips from Team USA’s training camp once again showed Caitlin Clark struggling on defense, this time against Kelsey Plum. The clip shows Plum asking for the ball before attacking and converting at the rim with Clark guarding her.

At the start of camp, a similar clip had emerged showing Paige Bueckers hitting a side-step 3-pointer on the Indiana Fever star. These videos have gone viral on social media, contributing to criticism for Clark.

After footage of Plum’s play was shared on Instagram on Saturday, fans flooded the comments section and trolled the star guard. Some fans claimed that Clark has been getting “cooked all camp,” while others wondered if the recent clips of her defensive shortcomings were part of an agenda.

“CC getting cooked all camp,” one fan said. “MedioCCre getting cooked on Day 2 is laughable,” another fan said. “CC out there getting cooked AGAIN,” one fan commented. “Saw two plays, decent defense, but cooked all camp lol,” a fan commented. “Is there an agenda or this a coincidence,” one fan asked.

Caitlin Clark is "back to 100%" at Team USA camp after injury-riddled season with the Fever

Caitlin Clark suffered a series of soft tissue injuries last season, limiting her to just 13 games for the Indiana Fever. She last suited up for the team on Jul. 15.

After missing close to five months of basketball, Clark said that she is back "at 100%" during Team USA's training camp on Friday.

"It feels nice to finally be back to a hundred percent," she said.

While clips showing her defensive breakdowns are going viral, footage from the camp also shows that Clark has been displaying her stellar shooting touch during team drills.

The Fever star is excited to be back and hopes that the WNBPA and the league can conclude the CBA negotiations, stressing the importance of playing the 2026 WNBA season.

Despite not having Clark for a large stretch of last season, Indiana was one game away from reaching the Finals, losing 3-2 in the semifinals to the Las Vegas Aces. The team could become a legitimate contender upon Clark's return.
