BYU football enters the 2026 season with head coach Kalani Sitake leading the Cougars into his tenth season. Bear Bachmeier returns to Provo after an outstanding freshman season. The BYU quarterback rejected several NIL offers upwards of $5 million to stay with the program.
The Cougars have only four losses over the past two seasons, but have fallen short of making the College Football Playoff. Sitake and his staff could be on the cusp of a historic season this year.
Following a 12-2 record in 2025, BYU faces one of the toughest schedules in the country, including a Oct. 17 date with No. 4 Notre Dame in Provo. If BYU can stay perfect, they'll likely be facing a rematch with Texas Tech, who beat the Cougars twice last year.
