Burnley seeking to finalise permanent £20m transfer of Chelsea striker

Burnley are set to further strengthen ahead of the side's return to Premier League action.

Scott Parker's team has already been strengthened this summer transfer window with 10 new additions to date.

Notable incomings include six-time Premier League winner and former Manchester City defender, Kyle Walker, plus forward, Loum Tchaouna from Lazio,

Also, Quilindschy Hartman has joined from Feyenoord and Axel Tuanzebe has made the move to Turf Moor after his contract expired at Ipswich Town.

However, The Clarets are yet to bring in an out-and-out striker to be a main source of goals for the team this upcoming season.

That could be about to change soon though, as talks are believed to be at an advanced stage to bring one of the strikers currently on Chelsea's books to the club.

Who is set to be Burnley's 11th summer signing?

Nizaar Kinsella of BBC Sport reported over the weekend that Armando Broja is potentially on his way to Turf Moor from Chelsea and he is keen to join Parker's side.

The deal to take the Albanian striker to Burnley is set to be worth around £20 million, and a five-year contract has been offered to the 23-year-old.

However, Parker remained tight-lipped on the potential arrival of Broja when speaking after his side lost 1-0 to Stoke City in a pre-season friendly on Saturday (August 2).

The 44-year-old told the Burnley Express: "It's a position we're looking at (striker), but there's nothing really, really close."

"So until anything comes out or that gets any closer, there's really no news on that."

Despite Parker's refusal to be drawn into a conversation over specific transfer targets, Broja is expected to finalise his move to Burnley this week.

Broja will be hoping a move to last season's Championship runners-up can allow him to settle down and flourish in his career.

The Albanian spent 11 years in Chelsea's academy before making his senior debut for the club in 2020.

However, he never truly proved himself in a blue shirt and was sent on loan moves over the past few years to Vitesse, Southampton and Fulham.

The striker spent last year on loan at Everton, but he made just 10 league appearances and failed to score a goal for the Merseyside club.
