Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo makes malleable decision on possible trade request

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best thing to happen to the Milwaukee Bucks in the last half century.

It's not a given that he'll still be around in a year's time.

Right now, Giannis is still the Bucks' leader. He's off to a historic start to the season through two games, in which he's the only player ever to have 60 points, 30 rebounds and 10 assists through the season's opening pair of contests.

But the clock is ticking.

And comments made by Antetokounmpo to ESPN's Jamal Collier, in a story released Friday, show how uncertain things might be.

"Ultimately, I'm going to make a decision," Antetokounmpo said. "And my decision today is that I'm here and I'm committed to this team."

That certainly leaves the door open.

Giannis made it clear that while with Milwaukee, he's committed. That's the type of personality he has. It wouldn't make sense for Antetokounmpo to pout and cause trouble.

But he also alludes to the fact that he'll have to make a more final decision at some point. Is he staying, or is he going?

Whatever Antetokounmpo decides will impact the near- and long-term future of Bucks basketball.

If he keeps playing to his peak talent and getting help around him, the Bucks can keep winning games, and he may just stay.

But if things take a worse turn, Antetokounmpo's decision may be one that leaves the fans in Milwaukee quite despondent.
