The Milwaukee Bucks haven’t been the same since their championship run in 2021, and have been on a slow, downward spiral ever since. Now, it might be coming to a tipping point, where their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, may be on his way out.
However, it seems the Bucks are giving up yet. According to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, the Bucks are going to try to get a star to support him, making him want to stay.
“Five months after the Bucks’ stunning decision to waive Damian Lillard en route to adding big man Myles Turner on a four-year, $107 million deal, it appears they aren’t waving the white flag on Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee just yet. Instead, league sources said they’re considering making yet another significant addition that might aid their chances of convincing him to stay,” Nehm wrote.
According to Nehm, the Bucks have a multitude of assets to use for a trade. For guards, he listed Kevin Porter Jr., Ryan Rollins, AJ Green, and Gary Trent Jr. as possible options. Forwards/Centers Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis, and Myles Turner came up as options as well.
As for what kind of star they need, the Bucks have only one wing in Taurean Prince, who’s currently injured. Someone like Zach LaVine would be perfect, and the Bucks have already checked in on him.
Hopefully, the Bucks find their guy soon. As if they don’t, while Giannis hasn’t publicly commented about a trade, if they miss the playoffs, it can very well happen.
