Bucks' $228 million superstar predicted to be a top contender to ask for a trade this offseason

The Milwaukee Bucks are in a sticky situation, as they are down 2-0 to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Bucks haven’t won a playoff series since they won it all in 2021, and this concerning trend may lead to some foreseeable consequences with their superstars.

Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley believes that the biggest consequence will be that the Bucks’ main superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, will be one of the top stars to ask for a trade this offseason.

“Is this really how Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP and a Finals MVP, really wants to play out his prime? This is a lottery-level roster without him and a non-contender with him. He can't be content with this setup, can he?” Buckley asked.

Antetokounmpo has stated in the past if the Bucks don’t put a winning team around him, he would think about leaving. They tried to put one together this deadline, and so far, it’s not panning out at all.

Antetokounmpo has an amazing resume: He’s a NBA champ, Finals MVP, two-time MVP, In-Season Tournament MVP, DPOY, MIP, nine-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA, and five-time All-Defensive. Any team would be lucky to have him, and probably would offer anything to get him.

There are critics who have said the Bucks should trade him so they can start a rebuild, but others might believe the Bucks are still contenders. However, this series against the Pacers will probably be the deciding factor in if Antetokounmpo asks for a trade.

If the Bucks want to try and keep Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, they need to figure out how to come back from this deficit.
