The Issue: Bruce Springsteen slamming the Trump administration at his concert in Manchester, England.
I think Bruce Springsteen has forgotten where he came from (“Scorn in the U.S.A.,” May 17).
Like most Democrats, he fails to see that the majority of voters elected President Trump, and thank God we did.
Bruce, you get paid to sing, and nobody cares about your political views.
Shame on you for condemning our president in a foreign country.

Bruce claims what’s going on now is that “the majority of our elected representatives have utterly failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government.”
Isn’t this an exact, spot-on description of what we lived under in the last administration with former President Joe Biden opening the borders to millions of illegal migrants, including murderers, rapists, child molesters, drug traffickers, gangbangers and even terrorists?
Talk about an unfit president.

Springsteen is entitled to his opinion, though he should not profess to speak for the majority of Americans.
He has no credibility when he never commented on Biden’s shambolic mess of an administration.
We hear you, Bruce; true Patriots are just not in tune with what you’re saying.

What Springsteen’s brought to the stage in England wasn’t expected, especially given his location.
It is no secret that he is not a fan of Trump, and that is his right, as is his right to speak negatively.
However, he didn’t miss a beat while being downright disrespectful and vile while on stage.
He knew that his audience would be in full support.
Rather than sitting down for a civil conversation to discuss the issues, as Bill Maher has done, Springsteen prefers to die on his sword of ignorance and degrade the current administration whenever possible.

There are the truly ignorant and then there’s Springsteen.
Has there ever been a president more “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous” than Biden?
This is way past drinking the Kool-Aid and an outright manipulation of the truth.
But President Trump also needs to end his juvenile comebacks to all the haters and just ignore them.

Springsteen should stay out of politics and stick to his great music.
It’s OK to dislike President Trump, but don’t flaunt it.

The Issue: The “big, beautiful bill” fails to keep President Trump’s “no taxes on Social Security” promise.
The current House GOP bill does not reduce the tax on Social Security by one cent (“1 big beautiful bill advances,” May 21).
The bill does contain a provision called a $4,000 bonus, which actually is a $4,000 increase on deductions.
However, the formula used to calculate tax on Social Security is based on income before deductions.
Therefore, increasing deductions has no impact at all on taxes on Social Security.
Not keeping the “no tax on Social Security” promise that President Trump made during the campaign hurts seniors significantly.

Seniors are being hammered by rising costs, yet Trump wants to increase the SALT deductible.
Seniors put Trump and most Republicans in office, and one of his campaign promises was no taxes on Social Security.
If taxes on Social Security are still in the tax code, expect a bloodbath in 2026.
