Browns' Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson won't like ESPN's latest rankings

The Cleveland Browns, of course, have a wild quarterback competition going on between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. But, the elephant in the room is that no matter who gets the start, they're going to need a solid offense to do anything.

Even if Sanders and Watson come out firing on all cylinders with the best skills a signal-caller could have, if their offense isn't strong, they're toast. That's why both should be studying up on their offense line to see what they'll be dealing with come September.

Now, ahead of the new season, one new offensive signing for the Browns is already falling in ESPN ratings.

Browns' Elgton Jenkins may not provide the firepower Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson need

The Browns inked Elgton Jenkins to a two-year, $24 million deal in free agency. As a center and guard, he's supposed to help physically protect the quarterback and, in general, is certainly an important part of the offensive roster.

But, this year, he fell out of ESPN's top 10 rankings for his position.

Jenkins appeared in just nine games in 2025, and the Green Bay Packers released him. Then, he signed with the Browns. The NFL insiders surveyed for the ranking don't believe he's a top 10 caliber offensive lineman anymore.

One AFC executive had some positive words for him, though. "I'm surprised he didn't have much trade value. I know he's had durability issues, but he's a really quality player who can play all over the line," the executive told ESPN.

So, should Sanders and Watson lose sleep over Jenkins not being the player he once was, at least according to this ranking? Not really. But, it's something they should factor in when making plans for how to run the offense in 2026.
