The Cleveland Browns could use an upgrade at quarterback from Shedeur Sanders. He's not proven enough to be a lock for the starting job going forward.
But, with a lack of great options in free agency, trade markets, or the draft, the Browns might be better off building as good a roster around Sanders this offseason than trying to find a replacement right away.
With the lack of QB options, ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi predicts that the Browns could turn to offensive line and wide receiver help in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Browns predicted to take WR, OL in 1st round of NFL Draft
"Outside of QB, what other needs could the Browns fill with their two first-rounders? Offensive line and wide receiver," Oyefusi writes.
These two positions are the clear top needs for the Browns this offseason. Along the offensive line, only one starter from 2025 is set to return in 2026.
While the Browns will re-sign offensive linemen, sign free agents, and trade for players this offseason, the draft might be the best option for Cleveland.
Taking a top offensive lineman would make a ton of sense, especially since this isn't a team that will contend right away, barring the addition of a franchise quarterback or one of the current QBs turning into one.
Andrew Berry anticipates "a fair amount of turnover" this offseason along the offensive line. And taking one in the first round, with either of their top draft picks at 6th and 24th overall, would make a lot of sense.

But, wide receiver is just as, if not bigger, a need. Only the New York Jets, whose leading receiver last caught a pass in mid-October, had a worse receiving season than the Browns.
Jerry Jeudy, Isaiah Bond, and Cedric Tillman aren't a good enough group. The running backs and Harold Fannin Jr. are a good start, but the Browns must add a wide receiver this offseason.
Whether it's trading for someone like AJ Brown or Keon Coleman, signing a top free agent, or taking one in the first round of the NFL Draft, the Browns need to add wide receiver help this offseason.
Oyefusi is predicting the Browns will add to their offensive line and wide receiver rooms in 2026 NFL Draft if they do not go with a quarterback. While some help on defense might be realistic, WR and OL are the two biggest needs by far this offseason for Cleveland.
