Browns predicted to ditch Shedeur Sanders, trade young QB to NFC Super Bowl contender

Though Shedeur Sanders showed some promise in seven starts with the Cleveland Browns in 2025, one NFL analyst predicts the team will move on from the young quarterback after just one season.

FanSided's Christopher Kline predicts the Browns will trade Sanders to the Philadelphia Eagles and look for a new starting quarterback under first-year head coach Todd Monken.

Here is what Kline had to say about his prediction of Cleveland trading away Sanders to Philadelphia:

"Cleveland moved ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles on draft night a year ago to claim Sanders in the fifth round. If the Eagles are willing to cough up a sixth- or seventh-round pick to see what Sanders can show them in practice, the Browns ought to consider it. Sanders would benefit from the, um... stability (?) in Philadelphia. There's a real culture there (normally) and Howie Roseman knows what he's doing, at least."

The Browns could opt to be patient with Sanders and have him be the starting signal-caller in 2025. However, there is also a scenario where Cleveland goes in a completely different direction.

During his end-of-the-season press conference, general manager Andrew Berry was noncommittal to Sanders as the starting quarterback in 2026.

If the Browns decide to trade Sanders, the Eagles would be a nice landing spot for the Colorado product.

In Philadelphia, Sanders would get the chance to back up Jalen Hurts and learn from the Super Bowl LIX MVP. If Sanders gets thrust into action, he could have success in an incredibly talented Eagles' offense and have a Malik Willis-type rise.

It's unlikely that the Beowns will dump Sanders after just one year, but if Berry and Monken do revamp the quarterback room in the coming months, sending Sanders to Philadelphia would be ideal for his development.
