Browns linked to trade for Colts Pro Bowler that could help form NFL's best CB trio

While the Cleveland Browns might not be coming into the 2026 NFL season as a serious threat to make the playoffs, they should still look to upgrade the roster to be competitive.

After focusing on the offense during the NFL Draft, the Browns now have a clear need lefty worth addressing: the slot cornerback spot.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report linked the Browns to Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore to fill their sneaky big need at slot cornerback.

"Kenny Moore III, CB, Indianapolis Colts. Projected Trade Value: 2027 6th-round pick," Knox writes. "Potential suitors: Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers."

If the Browns were able to pull this off, especially at the 6th-round projection from Knox, then the Browns might have the best cornerback trio in the entire NFL.

Browns could form best CB trio in NFL if they trade for Kenny Moore

Cleveland has a need at slot cornerback, with Myles Harden currently slotted in as the starter. There are worse nickels in the league, as Harden isn't terrible. But it's still a spot worth upgrading over.

That's where Moore could come in. He's a slot-only defender and would fit right in at Harden's spot to pair with Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell.

Moore, the one-time Pro Bowl CB, has a 89.9 passer rating allowed with 21 interceptions and four pick-sixes in his nine-year career.

Ward is a five-time Pro Bowler with a 75.3 passer rating allowed with 18 interceptions and two pick-sixes in his eight-year career.

Campbell is a five-year veteran, the youngest of this trio. He's not made a Pro Bowl, and has allowed a 97.7 passer rating. But he has seven interceptions, one pick-six, to go with an 84.8 passer rating allowed in his 12-game stint with the Browns in 2025.

There are some good cornerback rooms around the NFL, but if the Browns added Moore to their secondary, they might be able to lay claim to having the best CB trio in the league.

The Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots might have a case, but the Browns would, at the very least, be in contention.

Even though it might not make a ton of sense for the Browns to acquire veterans who might not play for much longer, especially using draft picks, adding Moore would be a fun move that could aid Myles Garrett in chasing more sack records.
