The Cleveland Browns are looking to build a better offense around whoever their starting quarterback ends up being in 2026, whether it's Dillon Gabriel, Deshaun Watson, or Shedeur Sanders.
With the need for better offense around the QB in mind, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Browns spent multiple draft picks on offensive help, especially in the receiving game. And one area to keep in mind is the tight end room now that David Njoku is gone.
Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report linked the Browns to a possible Njoku replacement and an ideal pair with Harold Fannin Jr. in Stanford tight end Sam Roush. The underrated 6-foot-5 tight end would be a quality pickup for the Browns this offseason.
Browns linked to Stanford's Sam Roush
"Stanford's Sam Roush is simultaneously the class's best blocking tight end and an elite athlete," Sobleski writes. "He is the ideal complementary piece alongside Fannin."
Roush is a Senior tight end who, last season with the Stanford Cardinals, caught 49 passes for 545 yards and two touchdowns.
His receiving production isn't his calling card, as his best work comes as a blocker. With Fannin being the opposite, being a far better receiver than blocker, adding Roush to make up for Fannin's blocking makes a ton of sense.
Cleveland needs to find a replacement for Njoku this offseason, and instead of trying to cheaply replace the former Pro Bowler, the Browns should seriously consider a tight end early Day 3 to pair with Fannin for the next few years.

Todd Monken used 12 personnel, or multiple tight ends, a lot with the Baltimore Ravens, and the team's second tight end will be a lot more important for the Browns than it might have been in years past.
Ideally, for the Browns, instead of acquiring another receiving-first tight end, landing someone like Roush would be a fantastic way to replace Njoku.
He's a great blocker who can still factor into the receiving game, and while he might be more underrated than other tight ends who have higher receiving upside, Roush would be a perfect complement to Fannin.
Cleveland is looking to improve the offense for Sanders or a rookie quarterback from the 2027 NFL Draft class. Adding Roush, a tight end who can be both a receiver and key blocker, would be a worthwhile pick for Monken's offense.
