Golden State Warriors star guard Steph Curry seems to be trending in the right direction when it comes to a potential return to game action.
The Warriors provided an update on Curry on Saturday and indicated that he’s nearing a return to practice after an extended absence. Curry has been sidelined since late January with patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is also known as runner’s knee.
From the Warriors:
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who has missed the last 20 games due to patella-femoral pain syndrome/bone bruising in his right knee, was re-evaluated today. The re-evaluation indicated that Curry continues to make good progress. He has intensified his individual on-court workouts and, as next steps, he will be incorporated into live action and team practices in the coming days. He will be re-evaluated again after the team returns home next week.
The Warriors will play against the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night and then against the Mavericks in Dallas on Monday night before returning home, so Curry will miss both of those games. But his return could be on the horizon after that.
On the season, Curry has appeared in just 39 games for Golden State and posted averages of of 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.
