Questions have continued to arise about the future at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, and they might get one in an unconventional way. With Brendan Sorsby of Texas Tech not expected to play again in college football, after being recently denied reinstatement following a gambling situation, some have thought that multiple teams searching for a quarterback will be in the mix for Sorsby in the supplemental draft.
If that's the case, it seems like the Cleveland Browns would definitely be at the top of the priority list.
According to general manager Andrew Berry, it also sounds like the organization is at least doing its homework on some of the top players in the potential supplemental draft.
“We haven’t had a supplemental draft in a while, or I guess a couple years now,” Berry said, per the team. “No different than we do every year. We’ll do the work on all the prospects and then we’ll make the appropriate decision for the organization.”
There's a lot more to figure out here with Sorsby than just his football skills. He definitely has the talent to be a first-rounder had he not gotten into this situation, though it's probably going to cause a bit of a problem with teams around the NFL.
At the very least, there are going to be questions he has to answer.
Nonetheless, if the Browns believe they can find their guy, it's interesting to think about him working out in Cleveland.
