Browns expected to make quarterback trade with Saints after Derek Carr retirement

5 hours ago 1

The Cleveland Browns have spent the offseason sucking up quarterbacks like they were the kid on the playground not letting anyone else play with the toys. With four quarterbacks in the room (five if you count Deshaun Watson), the Browns will have decisions to make. However, they could make one sooner than expected.

The New Orleans Saints announced that quarterback Derek Carr is retiring due to a shoulder injury. They drafted Tyler Shough to be a potential starter going forward. The remaining quarterbacks in the room for the Saints are Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener. Considering how those two performed last season, the Saints may be in the market for a veteran quarterback.

Should that be the case, perhaps the Saints would call the Browns about Kenny Pickett. The former first-round pick was traded to Cleveland in March. Considering the room of younger talent the Browns have, though, as well as Joe Flacco as a veteran, Pickett could be expendable.
