Broncos trade with Texans, ship sixth-round pick for two more picks

9 hours ago 2

Just before going on the clock with the No. 197 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos made a deal with the Houston Texans, acquiring two seventh-round picks for that choice.

It was the fourth trade made by the Broncos in this draft and it gives the team one extra dart throw as it looks to fill out this roster. With the No. 197 overall selection, the Texans drafted Florida quarterback Graham Mertz.

The Broncos now have the last pick in the sixth round (No. 216) and one more in the seventh (No. 241). The team has beefed up areas that were already solid at cornerback and edge rusher in this draft, so we'll see if George Paton and Sean Payton look to add some sneaky offensive choices with their last two selections, or if they have another trade up their sleeve.

The Broncos could still use a developmental tight end and maybe another running back, but neither of those spots are dire needs with the moves the team has already made in free agency and the draft thus far.
