Broncos pull off stunning trade for Dolphins' star WR to get Bo Nix major help

1 hour ago 2

The Denver Broncos had been having a very quiet offseason through the first week of free agency, as they hadn't brought in any outside help for the offense or the defense.

All of their players from the 2025 season who touched the ball on offense are returning. But that doesn't mean the Broncos can't get help for Bo Nix. That's exactly what they did on Tuesday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos are in agreement on a blockbuster trade, acquiring Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins to get Bo Nix a massive receiving threat for the 2026 season and beyond.

Broncos to trade for Jaylen Waddle from Dolphins

"Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source," Schefter reports. "Denver receives Waddle and the Dolphins' 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year's draft. Miami receives: Broncos' 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year's draft."

It's a massive blockbuster for the Broncos, as they're landing a massive wide receiver upgrade for their offense. The team needed a playmaker, and they found one in Waddle.

He will join a wide receiver room with Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, Marvin Mims, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey.

The Broncos are parting with their first, third, and fourth-round picks to acquire Waddle and a fourth, but it's a deal that's absolutely worth it for Denver.

They're trying to win now after their near Super Bowl appearance in 2025, and this Waddle blockbuster should be a huge help for the offense in 2026.

Waddle is a fantastic WR, coming off a 910-yard 2025 season with shaky quarterback play. In his NFL career, Waddle has 5,039 receiving yards, 26 touchdowns, and 373 receptions in five seasons.

He's the star receiver the Broncos are looking for, and he will be a big addition for Nix and the offense as they look to make a serious Super Bowl push in 2026.
