Broncos had an early Round 3 grade on playmaker they drafted in Round 4

The Denver Broncos came into the 2026 NFL Draft with no first-rounder and a severe lack of picks in general. They did have a lot of picks on Day 3 of the NFL Draft and made the most of those selections.

But, of their picks on Day 3 of the draft, there's one that stands out as a big steal for this team, and it's running back Jonah Coleman with the No. 108 overall pick in Round 4.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Broncos had an early third-round grade on Coleman. But, they were able to take the Washington RB a whole round later, getting a steal by their draft board at a big position of need.

Broncos got Jonah Coleman a whole round later than they graded him as

"Denver ranked him as an early third-rounder on its board and classified his character as an A-plus," Fowler writes.

The Broncos had a need at running back with some uncertainty about J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey. And they got someone who will be a great complementary back in Coleman.

While he might not instantly take over the room, his highly graded character and intriguing profile at 5-foot-8 have Coleman as one of the more fun prospects in this year's class, especially at running back.

Denver had an early third-round grade on him, meaning they likely would've considered taking him on Day 2 of the draft if they had more than one pick.

But, after the Jaylen Waddle trade, the Broncos made just one pick before Day 3 of the draft, and they wound up going with Coleman with their first selection of Day 3.

Early third-round picks are in the 65-75 range, meaning the Broncos were able to, roughly, get a player they had ranked around 40 spots higher at the 108th pick in Round 4. Coleman wasn't just a fun pick for the Broncos in Round 4; he was a big steal as well.
