Brock Lesnar's retirement match should take place against record-breaking champion, says ex-WWE manager

Brock Lesnar's WWE retirement became a topic of discussion after a report stated that there had been an internal discussion about it. Meanwhile, Dutch Mantell said that a record-breaking champion should be Lesnar's final opponent.

Gunther has set several records in the Stamford-based promotion by breaking a few old ones under both regimes. However, The Ring General reached new heights in the company when he won a match over John Cena via a sleeper hold in Washington.

Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the legendary manager was asked to pick an opponent for Brock Lesnar's final-ever match in the company. The veteran picked the record-breaking Intercontinental Champion due to the current circumstances following Saturday Night's Main Event.

"If I was going to have anybody beat him [Brock Lesnar] right now, it would be Gunther," Mantell said.

Mantell also stated that it could change down the line, and the company could book it against Oba Femi, another record-breaking champion, instead of Gunther.
