A peace sign emoji and a disappearing act told the story on Wednesday, as Tyreek Hill posted on X after the Dolphins benched Tua Tagovailoa.
The team announced that the quarterback would lose his starting job to seventh-round rookie Quinn Ewers. The decision came two days after Miami lost 28-15 to Pittsburgh.
Hill's tweet included the "Nileey" GIF, a viral clip of someone waving goodbye before vanishing into thin air. The receiver added a peace sign emoji in the caption.

Mike McDaniel puts Tua Tagovailoa on blast after Steelers beatdown
NFL: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers - Source: ImagnMiami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel didn't hide his frustration when he met with reporters on Tuesday.
"I think the quarterback play last night was not good enough, and so for me, everything's on the table," McDaniel said.Tua Tagovailoa threw for 253 yards against the Steelers on Monday, with most coming after Pittsburgh already put the game away. He tossed one interception and absorbed two costly sacks that stalled drives.
NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero confirmed on Wednesday that Quinn Ewers will start versus Cincinnati on Sunday. The move benches a quarterback who signed a $212.4 million extension less than two years ago and leads the league with 15 picks this season.
Miami (6-8) has been eliminated from playoff contention and is facing a brutal salary cap situation heading into 2026. The Dolphins are projected to be $11 million over the cap, with Tagovailoa carrying $56.4 million in guaranteed money next season.
Ewers played in Week 7 during the blowout loss to Cleveland, completing 5 of 8 passes for 53 yards. He will get his shot to show Miami what he can do with a full week of preparation.
