Brock Lesnar is one of many WWE stars who is close to retirement. And following the success of John Cena's Farewell Tour, expectations are high.

Cena accidentally revealed that Lesnar is likely set to retire at SummerSlam 2026 in Minnesota, meaning he realistically only has a few matches left to go. With that being said, it looks like The Beast Incarnate's final opponent has already been decided.

Immediately after Gunther defeated John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event, WRKD Wrestling posted a tweet stating that The Ring General will retire Brock Lesnar next. This comes after they correctly reported that the Austrian would retire Cena.

Back in July, following his win over Goldberg in his final match, WRKD Wrestling had reported that Gunther would also be John Cena's last opponent. Brock Lesnar looks to be next on the list, with SummerSlam 2026 potentially hosting this dream match.

Will Brock Lesnar Put Over Gunther Like John Cena?

John Cena gave Gunther a lot during their match at Saturday Night's Main Event. He even tapped out for the first time in 20 years, which gives The Ring General a huge boost on his journey to becoming an all-time great.

Considering the nature of the business, we can expect something similar between Gunther and Brock Lesnar. The Austrian will likely win their match and retire The Beast Incarnate, following an explosive match. This is a formula that works, as we have seen.

The Ring General can end up retiring many more WWE legends over the next few years, including AJ Styles and Chris Jericho. Triple H is truly behind him. Few wrestlers have achieved what Gunther has achieved since The Game took over creative duties in mid-2022.

As for Lesnar, he has a bunch of big stars he needs to face again before retiring. Among them are Bron Breakker and Oba Femi, who impressed against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, like we saw with Goldberg and John Cena, Gunther is the new Final Boss of WWE.
