AEW heavyweight Brian Cage has been missing from action for several months now. The former multi-time champion has now shared a concerning update on his recovery amidst his ongoing on-screen hiatus.

Brian Cage has not competed inside the ring in AEW and elsewhere since he sustained an injury this past March. The Machine has been on the mend since then, and has kept his fans and followers regularly updated on social media regarding his gruelling rehabilitation process. Last month, the former FTW Champion revealed that he would have to go under the knife yet again to "fix or correct" a "situation" with his right knee, which he had previously undergone surgery for earlier.

During a recent interview with Nick Teodoro, Brian Cage opened up on his ongoing recovery, and talked about where his current injury ranked among others he had sustained in his career with respect to the levels of pain he has experienced.

“It’s been some of the most painful rehab I’ve ever done. I told my wife — besides a few top-tier injuries I’ve had — this is right up there in terms of pain level, especially when it comes to bending my knee and getting my range of motion back.”

The former ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion furthermore opted to keep the specifics of his potential comeback timeline to himself, stating:

“I also told them I didn’t want to know when I was coming back. So I don’t have a perfect, exact date. I know when I think I’ll come back. I know when I want to come back. But I’m going to keep that under wraps — that way nobody has any idea, and I’ll come back when I come back.” [H/T- Ringside News]

It remains to be seen whether Cage will return to AEW to further bolster the ranks of the Don Callis Family whenever he does come back.

AEW's Brian Cage on rehabbing with a former WCW legend

During his recent appearance on Nick Club Wrestling Happy Hour, Brian Cage discussed having undergone three surgeries in course of the past eight months, and the physical toll they have taken on him. The AEW powerhouse also spoke about doing rehabilitation with former WCW veteran Crowbar, at the latter's facility in New Jersey.

"It's going well, so for those who don't know, like, yeah, I've had three knee surgeries within the last eight months. Um, it's been a little bit of a rough go. And I'm actually out here in New Jersey, that's where you ran into me, with former WCW star, Crowbar, uh, rehabbing with him. He had his... both of his knees actually replaced, and he has his own physical therapist office, and he did his own therapy, and he wrestled like 15 weeks later, or something like that, which is insanely ridiculous.." - he said.

It remains to be seen when Brian Cage will step back into the squared circle.
