On paper at least, Newcastle ought to have the advantage here. With their heavy-pressing midfield, strong defence and focal point up front in Nick Woltemade, they are superior to Brentford in many ways.

With that said, Eddie Howe's side have been very inconsistent this season and their away form in particular has been awful, with no Premier League wins yet.

Brentford, on the other hand, have made the G-Tech into a fortress of sorts, beating Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool there.

Given Newcastle's patchy away form as well as the fact that they played midweek, then, the prediction is a mild upset in the form of a home win.
