The latest edition of SmackDown featured a massive surprise when former WWE star Matt Cardona, FKA Zack Ryder, returned. After making the comeback, he defeated Kit Wilson in a singles bout.

The last time Cardona made his presence in the Stamford-based promotion was in his Zack Ryder gimmick during John Cena's Last Time is Now tournament, where he suffered a loss against LA Knight. Meanwhile, this time, he made his comeback as Matt Cardona.

Furthermore, Michael Cole asserted that Nick Aldis has signed the 40-year-old star to the SmackDown roster, as he was a free agent in professional wrestling. This means that Matt Cardona is now officially part of the World Wrestling Entertainment.

However, his victory on the blue brand was the first time in almost 6.5 years that Cardona secured a win in a WWE ring. The last time he won a match in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut was on November 14, 2019. Here, Ryder, along with Curt Hawkins, defeated The OC and the Street Profits in a triple tag team match.

Now, it will be interesting to see how things will unfold next for Matt Cardona after he is officially part of the Triple H creative regime.

Matt Cardona shares reaction after WWE comeback

After making a thunderous comeback in the recent SmackDown show, Matt Cardona shared his reaction on his official Twitter (X) account.

The star reacted on WWE's official X post and affirmed that he is not finished yet. This means that he still has it and is ready to tear the place down.

Fans loved the return of Cardona in the Stamford-based promotion, especially when he returned as Matt Cardona, not Zack Ryder. This move is indeed great for the blue brand roster and opens the door to dream matches in the TKO-led promotion.
