WWE Superstar AJ Lee's return looks highly likely after the company recently dropped a major tease related to her. The former Divas Champion has been absent from the Stamford-based promotion's weekly programming since Wrestlepalooza.
At Wrestlepalooza 2025, AJ Lee teamed up with her husband, CM Punk, to lock horns with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a Mixed Tag Team Match. After winning the bout, the legend was expected to go after Big Time Beck's Women's Intercontinental Championship. However, that did not happen as Lee never showed up on TV after the Mixed Tag Team bout, and there are no official updates on when she will return to the company.
Amid her absence, the Stamford-based promotion recently dropped a bombshell related to the former Divas Champion. The company has released new merchandise for AJ Lee on the WWE Shop. The new t-shirts are inspired by Lee's initial run with the company and have 'Love Bites Back' written on them.
With this merchandise drop, the company might have just confirmed that AJ is returning to TV soon.

WWE replaced AJ Lee with John Cena
AJ Lee was initially on the banner of the November 17, 2025, edition of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. However, the company later replaced her with John Cena on the red show's banner.
This came as a huge shock to the fans, who wondered if Lee would ever return to the Stamford-based promotion. Now, looking at the aforementioned new merchandise drops of the legendary star, it seems clear that AJ is in the Triple H-led creative team's plans this year.
Many believe the former Divas Champion could return ahead of the Survivor Series 2025 Premium Live Event to compete in the Women's WarGames, which could feature Becky Lynch in Lee's opposite team. This match could also set up a future feud between AJ and Becky for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
It remains to be seen what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for AJ Lee's future in WWE.
