BREAKING: TKO finally issues public statement after WWE loses John Cena

John Cena just retired from the WWE. Now, TKO has finally issued a public statement.

John Cena has had a legendary career in the WWE. He has achieved pretty much everything there was to do in the sports entertainment juggernaut. After a legendary career, Cena decided to call it quits this year. He competed in his final match against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. Following this match, he bid farewell to the WWE universe, left his shoes and socks in the ring, and left.

Now, TKO Group, which is WWE's parent company, has taken to social media to issue a public statement after Cena's departure.

"@WWE broke records across the world all year long. 2025 was one for the books, and 2026 is set to be even bigger 🔥"

Konnan blames The Rock for John Cena's terrible heel run

At Elimination Chamber 2025, John Cena shocked the world by turning heel and attacking Cody Rhodes. While the heel turn was great, the weeks that followed failed to live up to expectations. His promos seemed lacklustre and bland, and his matches weren't any good either. Additionally, The Rock was never seen on TV after Elimination Chamber 2025. In the end, Cena went back to being a babyface.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 Official, Konnan blamed The Rock for ruining Cena's heel turn.

"I was not a fan of his first promos because we’d heard those promos before from other people. So, there’s no originality in it. I think Rock’s the guy that really messed everything up. When they didn’t want to go with Roman, and he just took his ball, went home, said 'f*ck everybody.' Cena was very professional because he went with it, even though I thought it hurt his career,” Konnan said.

It will be interesting to see what's next for Cena after his WWE retirement.
