Tony Khan announced a major AEW title match during the most recent episode of Collision: Winter is Coming. The official announcement was made after a backstage segment between the opponents.
Tony Khan officially announced the AEW Women's World Championship match for Worlds End 2025. Kris Statlander has been the champion for nearly three months, and she has defeated the likes of Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone during her reign to remain the Champion. Meanwhile, she got her next challenger as well.
On Collision: Winter is Coming from Cardiff, Wales, Statlander teamed up with Jamie Hayter to defeat Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Following their tag team win, Kris and Jamie shared a backstage segment.
During the segment, Hayter called out Statlander for the AEW Women's World Championship at Worlds End 2025 and the challenge was accepted. The match was later made official by the company President, Tony Khan, with an official graphic.
Jamie Hayter has yet to win her second Women's World title since losing it at Double or Nothing 2023 over two years ago. She has been craving a title win for quite some time as well.
AEW star on her first Women's World title win in Tony Khan's promotion
At All Out 2025, the AEW star, Kris Statlander won her first Women's World Championship in the Tony Khan-led promotion by winning a four-way match. Speaking on Close Up with Renee Paquette after the win, Statlander revealed how she felt:
"I was weirdly very calm that day. I don’t know why… I think I knew in myself that I had been preparing for this moment for so long that before I even stepped out there, I knew what I was ready to accomplish. I knew that it was my turn to take the throne, and I just felt so at peace knowing that I felt like I finally had reached my turn," Kris admitted.Meanwhile, Statlander's next challenge will be Jamie Hayter at Worlds End 2025.
