BREAKING: Michael Cole Officially Announces Injured Star Is Replaced From John Cena's Tournament

Michael Cole has now officially announced that an injured star is being replaced from the tournament to face John Cena. The future of what is to happen has been revealed.

WWE broke the news earlier today that Sheamus will not be able to continue performing in The Last Time Is Now tournament to face John Cena, despite winning his first-round match. The star will be forced to be replaced from the tournament despite his win as a result of an injury. The announcement by WWE said that they would provide more information as to his replacement and what happens next on tonight's episode of SmackDown. Michael Cole has done just that.

"BREAKING NEWS: Due to a shoulder injury, @WWESheamus is not medically cleared to continue competition in The Last Time is Now Tournament. Additional information will be provided tonight on #SmackDown."

On SmackDown, they said what was next.

Michael Cole's announcement stated that instead of Sheamus competing in the second round match against LA Knight, instead another star would be competing and that the star was officially being replaced in the bout. As to who would replace him, that was not revealed yet. That will only be revealed closer to the actual match, meaning that for the second time in a row, LA Knight will be heading into the tournament without knowing who he will face, while Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce make a decision as to that star's identity.

With the RAW and SmackDown General Managers choosing the next opponent for LA Knight in the tournament, they have a tough job ahead of them.

They have to decide whether to bring in a star who lost in the first round, a separate star from RAW or SmackDown or NXT, or even if it's another surprise return.
