Rey Mysterio, Jade Cargill, Matt Cardona, and others react to former WWE star's heartbreaking update

Several current and former WWE personalities, including Rey Mysterio, Jade Cargill, and Matt Cardona, recently took to social media to react to a popular star's heartbreaking update. The name in question is current AEW star Brian Cage.

Brian Cage was better known as Kris Logan and The Night Claw in World Wrestling Entertainment. He competed in the Stamford-based promotion between 2008 and 2009. Cage joined All Elite Wrestling in 2020 and has since won the FTW Championship. The star suffered an unfortunate injury in April 2025 and has since been out of in-ring competition.

The AEW star recently took to Instagram to provide a heartbreaking update on his injury. Brian shared that he was doing everything to return to the ring as soon as possible, but he needed to undergo knee surgery once again, as there was an issue with the operation.

"I busted my a** and have done everything imaginable to come back as quick and as healthy as possible. That being said, I have some news. News that nobody would want to hear. There is an issue on the operation I had on my right knee. I was fighting an uphill battle that no amount of therapy, modalities, stem cells, peptides, etc, we're going to fix. I have to go back under the knife for them to try to fix or correct the situation."

Several current and former WWE personalities, including Rey Mysterio, Jade Cargill, Matt Cardona, Elias, and Jinder Mahal, left comments on Brian Cage's Instagram post.

The Master of 619 and Cardona were sorry to hear about Cage's heartbreaking news. Meanwhile, The Storm encouraged him to push through this setback and wrote that she was keeping him in her prayers.

Former WWE star Brian Cage was not happy about one major thing on AEW Dynamite

Last week on Fright Night AEW Dynamite, a painting was shown in honor of the members of the Don Callis Family. This caught former WWE star Brian Cage's attention, and he called out the artist for downsizing him, which he believed made everyone else look better in the painting.

"The fact they downsized me and then made everyone else look better is crazy," wrote Cage.

It remains to be seen for how long former WWE star Brian Cage will be out of in-ring competition.
