The Atlanta Braves swung a trade with the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
According to announcements from both clubs, the Braves acquired right-hander Victor Mederos from the Angels in exchange for international bonus pool space.
"Neither club specified the amount of pool space that is changing hands, but, by rule, it must be in increments of $250K," Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors wrote this afternoon.

Mederos, 24, was designated for assignment by Los Angeles a few days ago and made his Major League debut with the AL West club in 2023. He's thrown just 25.1 innings since then, spending most of his time at Triple-A.
Speaking of Triple-A, Atlanta sent Mederos to Triple-A Gwinnett following the trade. The Braves could use him later this season if a handful of relievers hit the injured list, but there are many members of the bullpen ahead of him on the depth chart.
He was a sixth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State University in 2022 and averaged 94.6 mph on his fastball in 2025.
