Brandon Aiyuk issued a mea culpa after a video he shared over the weekend landed him in some hot water.
On his YouTube page Tuesday, the 49ers receiver said he was sorry for hitting speeds of over 100 mph while driving by Levi’s Stadium in footage he posted to his channel on Saturday.
“Sorry yall,” he wrote. “My car content won’t come with speeding anymore! Was Praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones!
“My apologies.”
49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk apologized for going over 100 mph in a video he posted to YouTube. USA TODAY Sports via Reuters ConThe clip, which went viral shortly after Aiyuk threw it up, showed the 27-year-old in a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing reaching 104 mph as he passed by the 49ers’ home venue.
Earlier in the vid, Aiyuk’s speedometer made it all the way to 111 mph while he cruised through Bay Area freeways.
The images ended up catching the attention of cops, with the Santa Clara Police Department releasing a statement that said authorities were “aware” of the matter.
“At this point, the video is being reviewed, and further details can be provided when available,” a dept. spokesperson told TMZ.

Aiyuk, who caught 75 balls for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023, has not played a down for the 49ers since he tore up his knee in October 2024 — just a few weeks after he inked a four-year, $120 million contract extension.
A divorce from the team appears to be on the horizon, as Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan told media members last week he hadn’t seen the wideout “in a month.”
The 49ers have nonetheless thrived despite Aiyuk’s absence — they’re 11-4 and can lock up the NFC’s No. 1 seed if they win the final two games of their season.
