A 2-year-old boy miraculously survived a 15-story fall from a Maryland high-rise apartment building by landing on bushes and a pile of mulch below, officials said Friday.

The unidentified toddler narrowly escaped death Thursday afternoon when he plunged from a private balcony with a glass barrier at the apartment building in White Oak, ABC News reported.

“[It’s] miraculous,” Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Assistant Chief David Pazos told the outlet.

“I think it was a combination of those bushes being there, those shrubs, and his size and weight,” he said of the child’s stunning survival.

The tot, whose parents were home at the time, was still conscious after hitting the ground and suffered some “traumatic” injuries. But the only obvious injury he had was a broken arm, a fire officials said.
