Justin Thomas is a great golfer, but by his own admission, he isn't that proficient in his football skills. The ace golfer recently took a dig at himself, stating that he might get injured and fumble at the same time if he ever became a running back in the NFL.
Thomas is a 16-time winner on the PGA Tour and is currently recovering from a recent surgery. The star golfer is also quite active on social media and is known for his humor.
On Monday, December 22, Justin Thomas shared his take on his football skills.
"If I were to be a running back in the @NFL, what would happen first… I’m knocked out of the game due to injury or fumble? Cue the “both at the same time!!!!" (I think that’s my answer 🤣)," he wrote on X.If I were to be a running back in the @NFL, what would happen first… I’m knocked out of the game due to injury or fumble? This isn't the first time Thomas has made an NFL-related tweet. A few days ago, he shared his take on the current college football playoff format.
"I think it’s pretty common opinion the college football playoff system and committee is very wonky and needs work…. But the home playoff games is incredible. That atmosphere and crowd sounds louddddddd," he wrote.I think it’s pretty common opinion the college football playoff system and committee is very wonky and needs work…. Justin Thomas undergoes microdiscectomy
Last month, Justin Thomas underwent a microdiscectomy after struggling with lower back issues. He shared an update about his injury on social media platforms.
"I've had some nagging hip pain for a handful of months and after some time off and worsening symptoms, an MRI showed I had a disc problem that needed to be treated," he wrote on X. "I had a successful microdiscectomy performed yesterday at Hospital for Special Surgery in NY and have already been released from the hospital. "I'm so grateful to the doctors and staff there for all their hard work and support. My next few weeks will be a lot of resting before the rehab process begins. I have a great team behind me who I fully trust to get me back to a better place than I was before! "The two-time major champion added that he wasn't putting any timeframe on making a return but hinted that he might miss the first few events of the 2026 season.
Thomas had a decent season on the PGA Tour, as he ended his three-year title drought. The star golfer won the RBC Heritage, his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship. Besides, he also made three more runner-up finishes and eight top-tens overall.
