The Boston Red Sox are hoping for a bounce-back season from Jarren Duran, who had a down campaign a year ago. Duran became an important presence both offensively and defensively for Boston, but his 2025 season was filled with ups and downs, as he’s dealt with trade rumors and more.
As the season approaches, Duran says he’s entering the year with a much different mindset. Duran spent the offseason focusing on improving his mental approach to the game, something many fans wanted him to do after some problems.
While he’s been good, like many young players, the mental side of the game has gotten to him at times.
According to Duran, the biggest changes weren’t physical but mental as he prepared for the year.
“For me, I’m kind of going in with a different mentality this year,” Duran said, per NESN. “It’s something that I’ve been working on this whole offseason, just mentality-wise. I’m excited to see if the fans can notice my different approach to the game this year.”
A confident and locked-in Duran has the potential to be one of the better players in the AL, as he can really do it all.
For the Red Sox, continued growth from players like Duran will be important as they look to win the AL.
