Happy birthday, Max Scherzer.
The future Hall of Fame pitcher turned 41 on Sunday, and he took the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays.
In the process, he tied an MLB record.
Scherzer struck out 11 Tigers batters in his birthday outing (and a revenge game against his former club).
It was the second time Scherzer has record double-digit strikeouts on his birthday.
That ties Stan Williams for the most double-digit strikeout birthday outings since at least 1900, per MLB Network's Sarah Langs.

Clearly, this is a bit of a narrowed record. Nobody born in the winter could ever accomplish this.
But there are still a lot of baseball months to account for.
And there Scherzer is, tied atop this fun, celebratory list. Not a bad way to spend a birthday.
