The continuous roster churn that comes in the NFL offseason continued in Detroit.
The Lions released cornerback Stantley Thomas-Oliver on Sunday.
Thomas-Oliver is 27 years old and joined Detroit last season, only making it onto the practice squad.
After the Lions were knocked out of the playoffs in January, Detroit signed Thomas-Oliver to a futures deal to remain on the roster during the offseason.
Thomas-Oliver will now be looking for a new NFL home.

He was a seventh-round pick of the Panthers in 2020.
In 26 NFL games, Thomas-Oliver has a total of 17 career tackles, mostly on special teams.
Detroit may follow sometime this week with a subsequent roster move to fill the opening on the 90-man roster vacated here, but the Lions haven't made any such announcements yet.
