Toronto Blue Jays fans want to keep Ernie Clement around for the long run.
The good news is that he's not going anywhere.
But the contract rumors going around? Those might not be quite as true.

Did Ernie Clement sign a new contract?
Ernie Clement does not appear to have signed a new contract with the Blue Jays. No notable MLB or Toronto reporters have shared such news.
There is a rumor going around that appears to be based on a Facebook post that says Clement has signed a new four-year deal.
The post has it sort of right.
Clement is eligible for arbitration this offseason and won't be a free agent until 2029. So the Blue Jays have Clement for the next three seasons on his current contract setup.
He's coming off a postseason in which he recorded more hits in a single playoff run than any player in MLB history.
Clement was also a nominee for two different Gold Gloves (utility, third base), although he didn't win either.
He'll be a fascinating arbitration case as a bit of a throwback player who makes a ton of contact and also adds a lot of value through versatility.
For the Toronto fanbase, though, Clement's contract isn't yet one to be worried about. He'll be around for a while.
