Billy Gibbons is leaving his bearded friends from Houston behind for a minute.
The ZZ Top frontman just announced he’s striking out on a solo tour with his BFG Band from December 2025 through February 2026.
And, while out and about, the Rock Hall of Fame inductee will make a trio of New York and New Jersey stops.
First up, the 75-year-old Texan boogies on over to Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino Music Box on Saturday, Feb. 7.
After that, he’ll hit Patchouge’s Patchogue Theater on Saturday, Feb. 14 and NYC’s City Winery on Monday, Feb. 16 and Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Finally, the intentionally unkempt singer and guitarist headlines at Tarrytown’s Tarrytown Music Hall on Saturday, Feb. 21.
“I’m joined with [BFG Band members] Chris ‘Whipper’ Layton and Mike ‘The Drifter’ Flanigan, in our collective Texas collective blues tradition,” Gibbons said in a statement. “There’s a bond that speaks volumes about our sonic skew. One might hear a surf tune or some other detour of loudness as what we do is looser than our collective background might suggest. We predict good times as we always say, ‘Ya’ can’t lose with the blues.’”
These won’t be Gibbons’ first-ever solo shows with “Whipper” and “The Drifter.” In fact, he recently played two concerts with them at NYC’s City Winery in February 2025.
According to Set List FM, the hitmaker performed 19 songs both nights including ZZ Top classics like “La Grange,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Blue Jean Blues” and “Just Got Paid” along with Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash and Jimmy Reed covers.
Prior to the solo trek, Gibbons has ten ZZ Top concerts scheduled from Nov. 7-22, 2025.
“…this was a concert to remember from that little ol’ band from Texas,” Rock At Night wrote about a recent show the legendary group played in Tampa. “As the [once quiet] listeners filed from the venue, I noted their tone was brighter and they spoke a lot louder. That’s what good music will do for you.”
Fans of The Reverend can purchase tickets for all upcoming Billy Gibbons shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for his solo tour with The BFG Band is Friday, Nov. 7.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Billy Gibbons new music
On Feb. 19, 2025, Gibbons dropped the rockin’ seven-track record “Cruising with Billy F Gibbons.”
Full of gusto, foot-stompin’ guitars and soulful vocals, the offering is unmistakably ZZ Top-esque.
Just a few of our favorite tracks include the hard-charging yet fun-loving “Livin’ It Up Down In Texas,” bluesy “Missin’ Yo’ Kissin'” and soaring rocker “My Lucky Card.”
Promise us you’ll stick around to the end, too. If you don’t, you might miss out on the slinky, attitude-heavy, instrumental “Got Love If You Want It.” What a find.
To hear for yourself, you can check out “Cruising with Billy F Gibbons” here.
BFG Band members
As noted above, Gibbons will be joined by the BFG Band at all shows on the late 2025/early 2026 run. Here’s a little bit about the ensemble.
Chris “Whipper” Layton drums. In fact, he’s so celebrated on the kit that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.
Mike ‘The Drifter’ Flanigin is an Austin legend and will play Hammond organ, bass while providing backing vocals on the run.
