The Buffalo Bills didn't make any trades before the Tuesday deadline.
It wasn't for a lack of trying.
On Sunday morning, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Bills made a push to acquire wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins.
Pelissero specifically wrote that the Bills were the "high bidder" for Waddle.
Apparently, they didn't bid high enough.

Pelissero goes on to imply that the Dolphins decided not to help out their division rival.
Waddle would've been a huge pickup for Buffalo. The Bills' wide receiver corps hasn't been good enough this season.
Khalil Shakir does a good job out of the slot. But the likes of Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer have been disappointing out wide.

Waddle would've given the Bills and QB Josh Allen a hugely explosive weapon.
Instead, Buffalo will have to make it work with what it has. The Bills had reportedly been in on Jakobi Meyers, too, but he got traded to the Jaguars.
Buffalo plays Miami on Sunday afternoon for their Week 10 game.
Waddle will get a quick chance to show the Bills what they're missing.
